WHO WE ARE
Over the last five decades, our three centres have developed and grown based on a shared commitment to providing high-quality services for victims and survivors, families and supporters.
From April 2016, the partnership of rape crisis centres has delivered, on behalf of the Essex Police Fire and Crime Commissioner, specialist services across Essex.
As a partnership we work together, as Synergy Essex, delivering a number of projects including the pioneering "First Contact Navigators" project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
We are all members of Rape Crisis England & Wales and are approved under their National Service Standards and membership criteria.
Building on this rich foundation, we continue to evolve in response to the needs of the individuals using our services. Lived experiences play a pivotal role in shaping what we do. Collectively we attend strategic partnerships and provide representation and advocacy on sexual violence and abuse.
Making a difference
For survivors, this means better access to support recovery, fewer long-term impacts on opportunities and wellbeing (physical, emotional and economic), and an empowered journey through the justice process.
Visioning a new future
This website demonstrates the impact of our centres by combining our experience with research and data. You will find information on the policies and practices that have informed our journey. There is also a space for consultations and requests from policymakers and academics that amplify the voices of survivors and victims.
Our goal is to end society's acceptance of sexual violence as a cause and consequence of inequality and recognise the impact of trauma on individuals.
Let's create a world where sexual violence and abuse is no longer tolerated.
